Client: CIDP

The Catholic Institute for Deaf people (CIDP) is a non-profit making body that caters for the educational needs of Irish Deaf people. The objectives of CIDP are to provide enabling services to Deaf people, including education, social, sporting, pastoral and religious care. In 2005 CIDP engaged WKN to implement a strategic plan incorporating the development of a central state of the art campus for Deaf people accommodating all of the CIDP activities. Planning permission for the first phase of the development was granted in April 2010.

CIDP have engaged WKN to:

  • Assess the potential of each of their sites for developing a campus comprising all necessary facilities
  • Assemble, manage and coordinate the Design Team
  • Coordinate the preparation of a masterplan for the preferred site incorporating all of the Educational, Chaplaincy, Residential, Recreational, Sporting, Social, Administration and Support Facilities necessary to provide for a state of the art campus for the Deaf community
  • Manage and implement the Masterplanning process
  • Manage the preparation of a detailed planning application
  • Liaise and negotiate with the Local Authority
