Existing planning permissions provided for the comprehensive redevelopment of the site for office, residential, retail, cultural and ancillary uses in 9 no. principal blocks. Significant progress has been made in the regeneration of the HSQ area as a high quality, modern, mixed use and vibrant city quarter.
Blocks not commenced or uncompleted are primarily to the western part of the site adjacent to the boundary with the Royal Hospital Gardens and fronting onto St. John’s Road West. To date, approximately 50% of the site area has been constructed. All of the 340 no. residential units permitted under previous planning permissions are occupied and the office element has been taken up by Eircom, AOL and the HSE.
