Bill Nowlan is a Chartered Surveyor, Town Planner and Property Arbitrator. He is well known in the property sector in Ireland, the UK, Europe and the US as a leading property and town planning expert. Professionally he participated actively in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and was a member of its Governing Council for nearly 10 years. A former Chairman of both RICS Ireland and Europe, Bill was also founding Chairman of the Irish Property Managers’ Association.
Academically he has lectured extensively at the School of Town Planning, University College Dublin, and was a visiting lecturer at University of Ulster. Bill is a non-executive director of several Irish companies. He was Head of Property Investment of Irish Life PLC for over a decade, before setting up WK Nowlan in 1995. His views on the property market are regularly published in the Irish Times Commercial Property Supplement and previously in the Sunday Tribune. Bill is a regular speaker at property and planning conferences.
Killian O'Higgins is a Chartered Surveyor with 37 years' experience in the Ireland, UK, Continental Europe, Middle East, USA and Asia Pacific. In Ireland, Killian started his career at Lisney before moving to Sherry FitzGerald, joining in 1983, shortly after the Sherry & Sons/FitzGerald & Partners merger. He spent 18 years growing and developing the business with a particular focus on commercial property, becoming Managing Director of DTZ Sherry FitzGerald in 1998.
In 2001 Killian joined DTZ in London as managing Director, DTZ International, subsequently Managing Director Europe Middle East and Africa. His final appointment at DTZ was CEO Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong.
A Founding Acadamician, Academy of Urbanism, London, United Kingdom, Killian is also a member of the (Dublin) Lord Mayor's Taskforce on Vacant Land.
John is a Chartered Surveyor with over 20 years’ real estate experience in both the UK and Ireland.
In the UK John worked for Thames Water Property, BAA Lynton and Pillar Property. On moving to Ireland he spent 4 years working for Treasury Holdings and, prior to joining WK Nowlan, for Harcourt Developments.
At WK Nowlan John provides clients with advice on real estate matters typically developing long term relationships with his clients. Key to his approach is the protecting and enhancing of asset value. His clients include International Funds, Developers, private individuals, State Bodies and Financial Institutions.
John is a Chartered Planning and Development Surveyor with over 20 years' property experience in Ireland and overseas.
John joined WK Nowlan from Monti Consulting where he was Property Director. He also spent over 10 years managing the Property Division of Pierse Contracting, where he was responsible for its property development, investment, asset management and related functions across commercial, residential and mixed-use projects, throughout Ireland and the UK.
At WK Nowlan John leads the Development & Asset Management service provision, providing consultancy services to broad client base including financial institutions, insolvency practitioners, investment funds, property companies, developers and private clients. His property development experience spans all stages of the development cycle from site identification and acquisition through to project completion and occupancy.
Eoin is a Chartered Surveyor with 30 years’ experience in commercial property. Eoin ran his own property consultancy for 10 years before joining WK Nowlan in 2010. Prior to setting up his own practice he was a Property Fund Manager with New Ireland Investment Managers, and then the Irish Property Unit Trust. In both organisations he was responsible for property investment strategy.
He is a former Chairman of the General Practice Division of the Society of Chartered Surveyors, and in that role he has commented extensively, in both broadcast and print media, on valuations and rent reviews. Eoin was part of the working group that adapted the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors "Red Book" for the Irish market, and chaired the working group that recently published the Guidance Notes for Chartered Surveyors acting as Expert Witnesses and Advocates.
At WK Nowlan Eoin is responsible for valuations, rent reviews, arbitrations and CPOs. He manages the WK Nowlan Property Valuation and Professional Services Division. He is a Director of the company.
Ken Woods is a qualified civil/structural engineer with over 20 years' experience working with John Paul Group, one of Ireland's largest building, civil engineering and development businesses. He has worked across all sectors of construction and development industry, the last 11 years with Board level responsibility for Development and Asset Management.
Ken was responsible for the management and delivery of many flagship projects including: the Printing Facility for Independent News & Media at Citywest, the award winning refurbishment of the Turner designed Palm House Complex at the National Botanic Gardens; and major office developments including Classon House, Dundrum, Dublin 14 and Ormond Building, Ormond Quay Upper, Dublin 7 where Ken acted as Development Manager for the client and joint venture partners.
Since joining WK Nowlan, Ken has responsibility for construction delivery of a €20m apartment project in Dublin 16 in addition to a €4.5m Primary Care Centre in Limerick. He also leads multi-disciplinary teams undertaking acquisition due diligence for large commercial portfolios.
Liam is a Non-Executive Director of WK Nowlan. He is a Chartered Accountant with over 35 years’ experience as an accountant in practice.
He was the Founding Partner of Ryan Glennon, and spent 20 years as its Managing Partner.
In practice, Liam specialised in corporate finance, and has wide experience in business planning and company development issues. He is a non-executive director of a number of private companies.
During his career he has been a Director/Chairman/Advisor to international companies, large SMEs, professional bodies and public sector entities.
Jim Milton is a non-executive director of WK Nowlan.
He is a founding director of Murray Consultants, a crisis management and corporate relations specialist with 40 years of experience in the PR industry. He is a former Business Editor and has worked as a journalist in both the print and broadcast media.
He is a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute and the founding Chairman of the Public Relations Consultants Association of Ireland. He is Chairman of Covestone Asset Management.
